[Notice] Effective October 1, 2023, LINE Fukuoka has changed its company name to LY Communications. Articles published on or before September 30, 2023 were written with our former company name.

Fukuoka City announced that it had confirmed its first case of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Thursday, February 20. Fukuoka City's official LINE account (LINE ID: @fukuokacity) has launched a new "Novel Coronavirus Information Compilation" (新型コロナウイルス感染症に関する情報のまとめ) feature in order to relay information to as many citizens as possible.

Tapping "FAQs and Consultations" (よくある質問 相談窓口) and then Novel Coronavirus infection in the menu lets you access the information.

The feature guides you to the information you need now, directly from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and Fukuoka City homepages. This includes the symptoms of infection, contact information for a consultation if you think you may have been infected, how to protect yourself from the virus, and more.

As domestic and international circumstances surrounding COVID-19 change, we plan to update the feature, its screen configuration, and the information it offers, as well as continually add and change necessary functions.

How to Use the Chatbot Consultation Desk

1. In the menu at the bottom of the screen, tap "Search for living information
" ( 生活情報を探す) and then Coronavirus.

2. Select "Novel Coronavirus FAQs" ( 新型コロナウイルス よくある質問) or Coronavirus Consultations, depending on the information you want.

A: If You Want to Contact the Consultation Desk Immediately

Tap Coronavirus Consultations; an option to choose between Japanese and English/Chinese will appear.

You will be given contact information for a consultation desk based on the language you choose.

B: If You Want Information About COVID-19

1. Tap "Novel Coronavirus FAQs" ( 新型コロナウイルスよくある質問) and a list of questions will appear.

2. Choose the question you have from the list, and the chatbot will answer you.

Each answer is a collection of information posted on the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare as well as Fukuoka City homepages.

Now you can easily get the information you want about COVID-19, even if you don't have time to search government homepages for it.

You can use the new feature by registering Fukuoka City's official LINE account as a friend. Add the account as a friend here:

As of February 2020, the account has accumulated over 1.64 million registered friends and has become a communication infrastructure that connects Fukuoka City with its citizens, as well as people coming from outside the city for school or work.

Moving forward, we hope to strengthen the connection between the local government and Fukuoka's citizens and contribute to the building of a strong, affluent city by making the account one that easily and seamlessly offers a variety of government services to even more people.
